  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Let chicken breasts rest at room temperature for 15 minutes; season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; sear chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Remove chicken and let it rest covered with foil.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté garlic for 30 seconds; add heavy cream and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stir in basil, Parmesan, lemon juice, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes; simmer for another 3-5 minutes.
  6. Return chicken to skillet; spoon sauce over chicken and simmer for an additional couple of minutes.
  7. Serve immediately garnished with fresh basil.
