  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 ¼ lb. bone-in chicken breast
  • Salt/Pepper (to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 yellow onion (diced)
  • ¾ cup diced carrots
  • 2 ribs celery (diced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 10 oz. refrigerated tortellini (about 2 cups)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté diced onion, carrots, and celery until soft (about 5-7 minutes).
  2. Stir in minced garlic and dried herbs; cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add bone-in chicken breast, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  4. Remove chicken to shred; return shredded meat to the pot along with tortellini. Cook until tender (about 5-7 minutes).
  5. Taste soup; adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed before serving warm.
