  • 12 slices of bread (white or sourdough), toasted
  • 8 slices of turkey breast, sliced
  • 4 leaves of iceberg lettuce, washed and dried
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced into thick rounds
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Toast the bread until golden brown. Allow it to cool slightly.
  2. Cook turkey slices in a skillet until heated through. Meanwhile, slice tomatoes and prepare lettuce and onion.
  3. Spread mayonnaise on one side of the first slice of toast. Layer with lettuce, turkey slices, and top with another slice of toast spread with mayo.
  4. Add lettuce, tomato slices seasoned with salt and pepper, then place the final slice of toast on top.
  5. Secure the sandwich with toothpicks at each corner and cut diagonally into quarters for serving.
