Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup fresh ginger, peeled & cut into cubes
  • 2/3 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 ounces white grape juice
  • 2 ounces non-alcoholic coffee syrup (optional)
  • 12 ounces gingerbread syrup
  • 2 ounces heavy cream
  • Gingerbread cookie (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, ginger, dark brown sugar, molasses, orange zest, cinnamon sticks, and ground cloves. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Remove from heat after boiling; stir in vanilla extract. Let cool for 15 minutes.
  3. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve and store any leftovers in the refrigerator.
  4. Prepare your glass by rimming it with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar using an orange wedge.
  5. Fill your glass with ice cubes. First pour in white grape juice followed by non-alcoholic coffee syrup (or no alcohol), then add gingerbread syrup and top with heavy cream.
  6. Garnish with a gingerbread cookie if desired.
