  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup whole milk (warmed)
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup softened butter (for filling)
  • ¼ cup hot cocoa powder
  • 15 large vegan marshmallows
  • ½ cup cream cheese (room temperature)
  • Powdered sugar (to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. In another bowl, combine warm milk and melted butter. Add the egg.
  3. Pour wet ingredients into the dry mixture and combine to form dough.
  4. Knead until smooth, then let it rise in a greased bowl until doubled in size (about 30 minutes).
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter, sprinkle hot cocoa powder on top.
  6. Roll tightly from one side and slice into rolls.
  7. Place rolls in a greased pan for a second rise while preheating the oven to 375°F.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Prepare frosting by melting vegan marshmallows and mixing with cream cheese and powdered sugar.
