  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper or to taste
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the spice blend by mixing salt, pepper, paprika, oregano, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Marinate chicken tenderloins in buttermilk and half the spice blend for 20 minutes.
  3. In a bag, combine flour, cornstarch, and remaining spices.
  4. Coat each chicken tender in the flour mixture until fully covered.
  5. Heat oil to 350°F and fry tenders for about 3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. In a saucepan, mix hot sauce and honey over medium heat until smooth.
  7. Toss cooked tenders in the hot honey sauce before serving.
