- 1 lb chicken tenderloins
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
- 1/4 tsp black pepper or to taste
- 1/2 cup hot sauce
- 1/2 cup honey
- Oil for frying
- Prepare the spice blend by mixing salt, pepper, paprika, oregano, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Marinate chicken tenderloins in buttermilk and half the spice blend for 20 minutes.
- In a bag, combine flour, cornstarch, and remaining spices.
- Coat each chicken tender in the flour mixture until fully covered.
- Heat oil to 350°F and fry tenders for about 3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- In a saucepan, mix hot sauce and honey over medium heat until smooth.
- Toss cooked tenders in the hot honey sauce before serving.
