  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup barley tea (cooled)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook chicken for about 6–7 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
  3. Pour in barley tea and let it reduce slightly before stirring in heavy cream, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and chicken broth.
  4. Return chicken to the skillet; simmer in the sauce for an additional 5 minutes until heated through.
  5. Serve garnished with fresh parsley and chives.
