  • 250 ml milk (plus 3 tbsp)
  • 75 g sugar
  • 13 g fresh yeast (or dry yeast equivalent)
  • 1/2 tsp finely ground cardamom
  • 75 g softened butter
  • 75 g chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk until lukewarm (about 20°C / 68°F). Dissolve fresh yeast in the warm milk.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and cardamom. Add the milk mixture and mix with a dough hook for about 10 minutes.
  3. Gradually incorporate softened butter until fully blended.
  4. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 ½ hours.
  6. Shape the risen dough into nine equal balls and let them rise again on a baking sheet for about 45 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 225°C (440°F). Brush rolls with milk before baking for about 12 minutes until golden brown.
