  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp kosher sea salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 oz orange dark chocolate bar (chopped)
  • sea salt (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl until just soft.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt.
  3. In a mixer, beat melted butter with both sugars until fluffy. Mix in orange zest and vanilla.
  4. Add eggs one at a time while mixing well. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients until combined. Fold in the chopped chocolate.
  5. Chill the dough for at least two hours or overnight.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare baking sheets.
  7. Scoop dough into balls and place on sheets with space between them; sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
  8. Bake for about 11-13 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
