1.5 lbs flank steak (or skirt steak/brisket)
1/4 cup corn starch
2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 diced onion
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic powder, corn starch, red pepper flakes, and diced onion until well combined.
Place the flank steak in the slow cooker and pour half of the marinade over it, ensuring it's thoroughly coated.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until the beef is tender.
Shred the beef using forks and return it to the slow cooker with any collected juices. Stir well to coat with the sauce.
Let sit on warm for an additional 10-15 minutes before serving.
