  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled and diced
  • 5 tbsp granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • 1 3/4 tsp ground nutmeg (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat softened butter with granulated and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract; mix well.
  5. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients until just mixed.
  6. Fold in diced apples gently.
  7. In a separate bowl, mix granulated sugar with cinnamon and nutmeg for coating.
  8. Shape dough into balls, roll in cinnamon sugar mixture, and place on parchment-lined baking sheets.
