  • 500g raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1.5 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 3 tbsp Sriracha
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Green onions, sliced, for garnish
  • Red chillies, sliced, optional

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over high heat until shimmering.
  2. Add half the shrimp to the skillet, searing each side for about 45 seconds until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. Lower heat to medium, add sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and chilli flakes; cook until fragrant.
  4. Stir in water, Sriracha, soy sauce, and brown sugar; simmer for three minutes until thickened.
  5. Return shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce; cook for an additional two minutes until heated through.
  6. Serve garnished with sesame seeds, green onions, and red chillies if desired.
