  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Blackening seasoning mix (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 tablespoon paprika (smoked or sweet)
  • ½ tablespoon onion powder
  • ½ tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the blackening seasoning with paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, oregano, and thyme.
  2. Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels and rub each side with olive oil.
