  • 2 1/2 cups coarsely chopped pretzels
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 16 ounces Tru Whip or Cool Whip
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for cream cheese layer)
  • 6 ounces instant strawberry jello
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 quart strawberries (hulled and sliced)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a food processor, pulse pretzels until coarse crumbs form. Mix with melted butter and sugar until combined.
  2. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking pan. Bake for 10 minutes, then let cool completely.
  3. In a bowl, beat softened cream cheese with sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, dissolve jello in boiling water; stir well. Add sliced strawberries to the jello mixture and let cool slightly.
  5. Once the pretzel crust is cooled, spread the cream cheese mixture over it, then pour the jello mixture on top.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours or until set before serving.
