8 1/2 cups cold water, divided
1 cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed or bottled)
Instructions
In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, combine 3/4 cup sugar with 1/2 cup water. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely to create a simple syrup. Remove from heat and let cool.
In a 2-quart pitcher, mix together the cooled simple syrup and 1 cup of lemon juice.
Add the remaining 8 cups of cold water to the pitcher and stir well to combine.
Chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving over ice.
