  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon Kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon oil (neutral)
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • ½ large yellow onion (sliced)
  • 1 bunch green onions (cut into pieces)

Instructions

  1. Marinate sliced flank steak with water, apple cider vinegar, salt, and baking soda for 15 minutes.
  2. Coat the marinated beef with cornstarch evenly.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear beef until browned on all sides.
  4. Add sliced onions and sauté until softened; then stir in minced garlic.
  5. Combine sugar and soy sauce; pour over vegetables and beef.
